While the tickets are technically issued by Malaysia Airlines, there’s no need to worry because all of the flights are code-shared and operated by Cathay Pacific.

Most of the flights are operated by their Boeing 777-300ER:

Overall, the availability is still pretty awesome with dates between August 31 to October 25, 2014:

How to Get It

Not all ticketing agencies have this fare available; The Flight Deal recommends using CheapTickets.com for booking. I have confirmed the fare availability on their site.

  1. Head to CheapTickets.com, search for your desired dates and city pairs, searching for +/- 3 days can help display availability
  2. Click to book, you’ll have a ~34 hour free cancellation window: “Book worry-free! Purchase now to lock in the price and cancel for FREE before 11:00 PM ET tomorrow.”
  3. You’re all set!

BOTTOM LINE: This amazing fare offers a discount of around 50% off for travel to Hong Kong. Jump on it before it’s gone!

So the plane is gonna be Cathay right?

    • That is correct. The flights will be ticketed though Malaysia Airlines with Malaysia Airlines flight numbers but those flight numbers correspond to codeshare Cathay Pacific flights. All of the transpacific flights in the above deal will be on a Cathay Pacific aircraft. Malaysia does not currently operate flights between Asia and the US, their flights to LAX ended in April 2014.

How do i check after i bought the ticket?

        • People are reporting having some success checking their booking using the Malaysia Airlines website: http://flymas.mobi/itravel/

You could try to main lookup on malaysiaairlines.com but might have better luck with the link above.

    When does this deal expire?

    • It looks like the fares are still live as of 9:30am EST 8/16 but I would still book ASAP, this deal could disappear at any minute. If you book now you’ll have until 11pm EST tomorrow to cancel if your plans change.

is the promo over? I do not see the advertised fares.

same here, does anyone have another agency that honors the same price?
