McCown’s Weekend Pick: Just Say No to Frizz
Tropical vacations are one of the most fun vacations to take…
until…
your hair looks like Monica’s in Barbados:
Now, I don’t mean to sound like an ungrateful brat, but that’s a vacation-ruiner if I’ve ever seen one.
And, because my hair is prone to frizz just like all the rest of us non-TRESemmé models, here’s a few tricks of the trade I’ve picked up along the way:
1. Use a moisturizing conditioner:
I’ve found that Redken’s Clear Moisture conditioner works pretty well. Just squeeze a few day’s worth into a small travel bottle from Wal Mart for .99 cents, and you’re good to go!
2. Grow your hair out! Usually, my hair is about shoulder length – sometimes a little shorter, sometimes a little longer. Since I’ve been growing my hair out, I’ve noticed that the frizzies have slowed down… and almost stopped altogether! Apparently, the “sciences” behind this are the more hair you have, the more it weighs… and its weight just pulls all the frizzies out.
Regardless, I may be the next Rapunzel if this is a solution to frizzy hair!
3. And, if all else fails, learn how to create some quick up-dos that everyone will love (and no one knows you’re wearing them because of your frizz!). Check out this hairstyle I’ve introduced into my own hair regime (thanks, Pinterest!):
