The Deal

Hilton is offering double points on all (eligible) nights at (participating) properties from November 1, 2014 through January 31, 2015.

The normal base rate for Hilton HHonors points is 10x points/$ spent (Home2 Suites by Hilton is only 5x), so, with this promo, you’ll be getting 20x points/$ spent.

How to Get It

1. Register here: Hilton HHonors “Double Up” before your first Hilton stay during the promo period of 11/1 – 1/31
2. Book your stays between November 1 – January 31, 2015, keeping in mind that ~396 properties (10% of all properties) aren’t participating in the promo (Avoid them! See list of hotels that aren’t participating below.)
3. Your bonus points will post within 6-8 weeks from the completion of your stay

Don’t forget: 

• There is lengthy list of ~400 hotels not participating, mostly U.S. properties. Double check it here before you book: “HOTELS THAT HAVE CHOSEN NOT TO PARTICIPATE IN “DOUBLE UP” 2014-2015”
• You must register before your stay to get credit–no retroactive credit! “Will I receive Double Points for any stays within the Promotion Period that I completed PRIOR to registering for the promotion? No. Only members registered prior to check-out of their first eligible stay will receive Double Points beginning on their second eligible stay within the Promotion Period.”

BOTTOM LINE: While this promotion is technically worse than the last (Hilton HHonors Summer/Fall 2014 Promotion 3x Points), the excluded property list encompasses only 10% of the Hilton Worldwide portfolio vs the 35% exclusion rate of past promotions so it might be better for many. This is a step in the right direction and who doesn’t want more points?
