Growing up in the South, I learned two things: Pepsi is the work of the devil and NEVER go to Ohio. Well, a business trip caused me to break one of those rules (with the exception of the occasional but delicious Dr. Pepper) and (much to my chagrin) it didn’t suck nearly as much as I anticipated.

At Moerlein Lager House, you’ll find a huge restaurant situated in a brand new building right alongside an expansive (enclosed) beer garden and a giant list of delicious beers. The location is prime: just a 10 minute walk to Fountain Square, right across the street from the Cincinnati Reds’ field and rocking a great view of the old suspension bridge.

Restaurant.com can be a great money-saving tool. We use it frequently, but you have to keep in mind that the only type of restaurant that signs up for the program is the desperate type that is trying to hunt down as many customers as possible.

The fresh smell of Mediterranean spices smacks you in the face when you walk in and you’re already certain you’ve picked a good spot. This Vietnamese Restaurant had all (read: the only) of the features I require in a good ethnic restaurant: lots of glowing Urbanspoon reviews. Small planes scare many people in the US where we have fairly strict regulation of both aircraft and airspace. It can be assumed that, in non-developed nations, these things fall to the back burner and Guyana is no exception – although it is improving.
