I’m not a super picky eater, so one of my favorite things to do when traveling is try new foods. I’ve found that plenty of the foods I fall in love with in another country happen to be available back home, but I’d just never branched out to try something I couldn’t pronounce.

On our recent trip to Europe, I made a booking using Starpoints a few months in advance for a stay at The Westin Europa & Regina in Venice, Italy. I determined the Starpoints Cash and Points redemption to be a great value:

I’ve prepared a handy map to see where in the world “X” number of Delta Skymiles will take you. This should help a lot in visualizing where in the world you can travel to with those miles you’ve been saving up over the years. You’ll find a few sweet spots that might help you save a few thousand Skymiles here or there, too, such as:

How to Get It / What I Did:
Wait for a change/delay in your flight schedule. This part is really just getting lucky. Now, I don’t mean to sound like an ungrateful brat, but that’s a vacation-ruiner if I’ve ever seen one.
And, because my hair is prone to frizz just like all the rest of us non-TRESemmé models, here’s a few tricks of the trade I’ve picked up along the way:

So many people think that denim is the best choice for travel — it goes with everything and you can wear the same jeans every day and no one notices. Wrong-o. I hate wearing jeans on a plane. It’s hard to move and not very forgiving in those teeny tiny seats (if you happen to be in Coach). Who is with me?
While jeans are nice – and usually a good choice – there’s something even better: black pants. Black pants are easy: they really do go with anything (yes, even brown) AND can be dressed up or dressed down as needed. And, bonus – they don’t get dirty easily.
