So we’ve covered a few other “Top Lists”, including:
Top 7: Longest domestic US flights Top 10: Longest Domestic Flights in the World Top 12: Longest Non-Stop Delta Flights in the World Top 15: Longest Fifth Freedom Flights in the World Top 16 Longest Emirates Fifth Freedom Routes: Coming to a City Near You Top 14: Longest United Airlines Flights In the World…but what about the longest non-stop flights in the world? Airplane manufacturers are always pushing the envelope trying to design planes that fly faster, farther and more efficiently. So far, the plane that has held the record is an Airbus A340-500 with a range of 9,000 nautical miles (10,357 [...]

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Concourse B Atlanta, GA 30320
I can get into a bad habit when I find a good restaurant. Especially when I only have an opportunity to eat there every so often. This is how I’ve been treating One Flew South, the awesome sushi restaurant at Atlanta’s Airport (ATL)–I have returned at every opportunity. But, this time, I forced myself to explore the other options and had read some good things about Café Intermezzo in Terminal B.
It’s half book store, half cafe-style restaurant, which results in an always-busy-feeling atmosphere and, in the land of Chilis, TGI Fridays and other typical chains, [...]
So I recently discovered a loophole when flying Delta a few weeks ago and exploited the hell out of it.
The end result? Not only did I get a more desirable schedule, I was upgraded to First class on all 3 of my flights.
How to Get It / What I Did:
Wait for a change/delay in your flight schedule. This part is really just getting lucky. When Delta has a delay in excess of 15 mins (I know there is a threshold), a warning message pops up on its website/iPhone/Android app informing you of the change and asking you if you’d like to find alternate flights. a Select “View Alternates.” You should notice that it shows very clearly that the options include [...]Small planes scare many people in the US where we have fairly strict regulation of both aircraft and airspace. It can be assumed that, in non-developed nations, these things fall to the back burner and Guyana is no exception – although it is improving.
Thus, it was important to us to pick a tour operator that had an aircraft that would take us further than the scene of the crash. When researching from afar, it’s hard to know exactly what you’re dealing with, so hopefully our experience can help.
Out of all the flight operators, Air Services Limited has one of the more impressive websites showing off their fleet and large crew, [...]
The SkyClub in Terminal B of Cincinnati’s Airport is, by far, the most spacious I’ve been to in a while. It feels like it was built for 2 to 3 times more people than were there on my visit.
This brings me to my question: “Is Cincinnati’s (CVG) Delta SkyClub the most depressing lounge?”
I wouldn’t call it “depressing” in the normal sense of the word, in fact it’s quite the opposite of depressing. It’s new-feeling, bright and quite spacious. It just seemed way under-used.
I ask if it is depressing because it is so under-used. I’ll elaborate: Delta once operated a huge [...]
Terminal E, Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport Sushi, Asian $$$
One Flew South has made a name for itself and it’s not often airport food is held in such high regard. Yet it routinely tops lists as one of the best airport restaurants in the world, and its fitting that it calls Atlanta Hartsfield home–the world’s busiest airport. Here you’ll find a slightly calmer pace, and generally plenty of room to spread out. The impeccable service and sleek modern decor exude a touch of class in such busy place. Located in ATL’s E-Terminal, you’ll likely have to go out of your way to dine here, but we’d argue it’s worth it. Many [...]Plattsburgh (PBG) airport is served by three carriers–all considered to be “low-cost carriers”:
Flights to: Boston Flights to: Myrtle Beach (MYR), Ft. Lauderdale (FLL) Flights to: Ft. Lauderdale (FLL), Orlando/Sanford (SFB), Las Vegas (LAS), Punta Gorda (PGD)Alright, so you bit the bullet on the dirt cheap tickets on Spirit Air to head to Montreal but didn’t exactly think that, no matter what the liars at Spirit say, it isn’t like Plattsburgh is a suburb of Montreal — it’s fricken’ 70 miles away — a solid 90 mins.

En route to Georgetown, Guyana and having just gotten finished with the free transfer from LGA to JFK, we had a lengthy layover in JFK. At the time of our trip, there were extensive renovations underway at the airport.
The flight was set to leave out of JFK’s Terminal 4, the main international terminal. It’s a pretty popular terminal and in fact, it’s the only one at JFK that isn’t operated by a specific airline. They say that, even on your first visit, you’ll feel right at home given that it’s been the setting for many movies: The Terminal, Syriana, Get Him to The Greek etc….
But I digress… point being, it’s a pretty cool terminal. [...]
