The only way to pull it off is to request everything prior to arrival. When you arrive they’ve already got your room setup complete with a personalized letter, your welcome amenity etc… They go the extra mile with preparation at this resort so any day-of room changes will greatly throw them off. Also, from what I’ve read (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/hyatt-gold-passport/1216828-park-hyatt-maldives-review-master-thread-wiki-91.html ), complimentary upgrades are very rare so we might have just gotten lucky?

Thanks. I am also planning to do the same thing. Staying there for 3 nights. Did you request an upgrade to OTW on arrival or had emailed the resort in advance?

We ended up staying at the Park Hyatt Maldives and used 22k Hyatt Gold Passport points/night for 4 nights. We paid $350 to upgrade to the OTW Villa for the first night but then received a complimentary Hyatt Diamond upgrade for the remaining 3 nights. It is a great property!

We stayed at the W Retreat and Villas in Seminyak (by the beach) for a few nights then stayed at the Villa Semana in Ubud (in the hills) for 2 nights. I was very pleased with both. There are countless good hotel/resorts in Bali, especially by the coast. Also, can’t recommend Villa Semana highly enough. It is about 1/2 to 1/3 of the cost of some of the internationally recognized properties in Ubud but with similar standards of service and quality of the property.

There are so many places I want to visit that I have the same problem. I end up trying to cram so many places into one trip! My wife and I are doing a full on Disney Honeymoon in the spring…One stop, everything taken care of. It’ll be different, that’s for sure!

Thanks! We’ll be sure to report back on Bali. We did Thailand (Phuket & Krabi) about 2 years ago and loved it–I’m afraid the bar has been set pretty high for Indonesia.

It’s funny, this was our attempt at NOT hopping around too much. The goal was to have just 2 stops and do 5-7 nights in each place but, sure enough, there are just too may places to visit for us to sit still that long!
