If the TSA had it their way, then they would be hassling us at train stations, too. After all, it is the TRANSPORTATION Security Administration. Hopefully a Rand Paul presidency will relieve travelers of the TSA at airports.

For a special NYC to DC roundtrip, is it worth it to splurge for the Acela? My friend and I will be visiting NYC around Christmas and she wants to see DC.

Yep, you’ve nailed it but I’d still argue that for travel between D.C. and New York, the train is the way to go. At 3 hours flat, door-to-door and no TSA to deal with, I’d take the Acela every time over flying.
